Pinterest is a magical land of everything that is good and pretty on the internet, but you all probably know this already because I’m late to the party. If you’re even later than me, clear your schedule and head on over now to devour the eye-candy that awaits! Or if you’re wondering what the hell I’m talking about, you can read what it’s all about first. In their own words:

Pinterest is a Virtual Pinboard.

Pinterest lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and organize their favorite recipes.

Best of all, you can browse pinboards created by other people. Browsing pinboards is a fun way to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests. To get started, request an invite.

Here are some ways I’ve been using Pinterest:

Keeping track of and sharing all of my beautiful online fashion finds.

Pinterest Nellie Windmill

Gathering interior design inspiration for our much dreamed-of future home.

Pinterest Nellie Windmill_Home

Gathering architectural inspiration for our dream dwelling.

Pinterest has also become a part of my art creation process! Those of you who follow me on Twitter will know that just yesterday I drew my colour palette inspiration for my owls-in-pants paintings from my Pinterest style board.

If you’d like to come and join me, here’s my little corner of Pinterest. Pinterest is currently invite only, so shout out if you need an invite and I’ll email one over.

For those of you who are already on Pinterest, how about popping a link to your profile in the comments so I can follow you and see all of the pretty things you adore! I’d also love some recommendations of people and boards to follow. Like Twitter, although I’m following some friends and a couple of bloggers I’m familiar with, I’ve yet to really build a strong community of kindred spirits. I reckon, like Twitter, the real power of Pinterest is harnessed once you’ve found your people (they’re out there somewhere, I just know it!).

pinterest is so wonderful, i’ve just begun to get a sense of how to use it. i’ve devoted boards to the same subjects as the columns on my site. i like that it is as much for me as for anyone who follows – i’ll refer to it as well. i love the idea of using it as an inspiration board for interior design. i’ve start a pinboard for an archiving project, finding old images of people making things, it’s called ‘keepsakes’.

    i’m over here:

I would love an invite to Pinterest. It seems to be what I wanted Polyvore to be. I also want some of those trouser socks you’ve pinned.

    Keep up the good work!
